The Newsmakers Studio
'Pennsylvania Newsmakers' is Pennsylvania's premier politics and public policy talk television show. Television programs with public policy and politics content typically have small, but qualitatively important television audiences. In the Harrisburg/Lancaster/York/Lebanon television market, however, --where it can be seen at 11:00 A.M. on WGAL-- Pennsylvania Newsmakers continues to maintain substantial viewership and holds a strong competitive advantage over Face The Nation, This Week, The McLaughlin Group and Bill Moyers, equals Chris Matthew's Hardball in audience, and is topped only by nation's most popular Sunday interview program, Meet The Press.

We discuss the important issues with the state's prime decision-makers and political commentators each week, focusing on policy issues and political battles that are at the top of Pennsylvania?s agenda.

The host/moderator of the show is Dr. G. Terry Madonna, Director of The Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College.

In addition to hosting 'Pennsylvania Newsmakers,' Dr. Madonna has provided political commentary on many media outlets across Pennsylvania including KYW-TV in Philadelphia and WGAL-TV in Lancaster.

Recent shows have featured top Rendell advisors and cabinet members, as well as the Governor both as a guest and a guest-host. We have interviewed Policy Director Donna Cooper, Budget Secretary Michael Masch, DEP Secretary Kathleen McGinty, Barbara Hafer, Mark Singel and his campaign manager and transition team member Dave Sweet. Pennsylvania Newsmakers will also carefully follow the development of Rendell policy by continuing our regular features of cabinet members as new policies are developed. Guests on our programs have included U.S. Senators Rick Santorum and Arlen Specter; Attorney General Mike Fisher; Auditor General Robert P. Casey, Jr.; Former Lieutenant Governor Mark Singel; Former Congressman Robert Walker; Former Lieutenant Governor William Scranton III; Congressman Bill Goodling; Former Governor Ridge?s Press Secretary Tim Reeves; Transportation Secretary Brad Mallory; House Minority Leader Bill DeWeese; State Representatives John Barley, Michael Sturla and Mike Veon; Governor Mark Schweiker (appearing as Lt. Governor and as Governor); Charles Zogby, (former Education Secretary and Policy Director of the Office of the Governor); and House Majority Leader John Perzel.
