Originally aired on July 14th, 2002

This week on Pennsylvania Newsmakers, the Democrats will respond to the Republican-engineered state budget recently passed by the General Assembly. Mike Veon, House Democratic Whip, makes the Democratic case when he is interviewed by host Terry Madonna, Jen Rehill of Pennsylvania Public Radio and Robert Swift of the Ottaway News. Veon will address the use of the rainy day fund to balance the budget, education funding, the cigarette tax, school vouchers, the use of community revitalization grants, and the politics of budget passage. The show also will feature the Hero of the Month.
