Homeland Security and Prescription Drug Issues

Originally aired on June 9th, 2002

This week Pennsylvania Newsmakers re-airs our show with Earl Freilino, Pa's Director of Homeland Security. He describes the safety and security precautions the State is taking, and focuses on the efforts at the State's nuclear power plants. Prescription Drugs -- cost, use, and programs--is the subject of the second part of the program. Former Pennsylvania Medical Society president, Dr. Carol Rose, and Hospital and Health System Association Vice President Jim Redmond weigh in on this subject. Included is a discussion of Mike Fisher and Rendell's plans for extending prescription drug coverage. Robert Swift of the Ottaway News joins Terry Madonna as this week's guest journalist.
