The Auditor General Gives an Account, and the United Way Speaks on Charity Since 9/11

Originally aired on February 8th, 2003

Our newsmaker this week is the State's Auditor General Bob Casey--who responds to questions about three important issues: the budget review he conducts at the end of each fiscal year, his law suit against the state's two large pension funds for not providing him with information he believes he's entitled to in order to conduct an audit of their activities, and his recent report suggesting that taxpayer-financed trade missions by former Gov. Tom Ridge and his administration grossly overrated the economic benefits from those trips. Also appearing is Tom Foley, the President of The United Way of Pennsylvania, who fields questions about the vitality and the special projects of the United Way since 9/11. Host Terry Madonna is joined Brad Bumsted of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
