Healthcare Update--Covering the Uninsured

Originally aired on March 30th, 2003

This week's Pennsylvania Newsmakers features an important discussion of one of the state's most pressing health care problems--the fact that more than more than one million Pennsylvanians are without any health insurance. The newsmakers appearing are Carolyn Scanlan, the President of The Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania, and Michael Young, the President of the Lancaster Health Alliance. The two Newsmakers discuss the short and long term implications for patients and the medical community when so many are without health coverage. The program also contains a discussion of the progress of medical malpractice reform. G. Terry Madonna, Director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Millersville University, serves as host of Newsmakers.
