This week's Pennsylvania Newsmakers features former Lt. Governor, Mark Singel, a leading advisor to Governor-elect Ed Rendell and a top Rendell transition team advisor, who discusses the progress of the transition and reacts to the state legislature's lame duck session. In the second part of the program, Carolyn Scanlan, the President of the Hospital and Health System Association and a member of Rendell's medical malpractice task force, and Dr. Edward Dench, the President of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, describe the difficulties faced by hospitals and doctors in obtaining liability insurance and the threat this crises poses to patient access to health. Fred Anton, the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association, serves as co-host, along with regular host Terry Madonna.
