This week on Pennsylvania Newsmakers, Secretary of Environmental Protection David Hess, talks about the mining disaster at Quecreek, the lessons learned from the disaster, and what the state plans to do to ensure that safety protections will minimize the likelihood of future Quecreeks. On the second part of the show, two of the state's leading experts described patient safety, the effects of a recent law relating to patient safety, and why the subject is important to patients. Dr. Edward Dench, President-Elect of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and PA Physician General Dr Robert Muscalus are interviewed by Jen Rehill of Pennsylvania Public Radio and host Terry Madonna.
